Foxconn, the world’s largest contract electronics manufacturer, announced on Friday plans to invest T$15.9 billion (US$509.94 million) to construct its new headquarters in Kaohsiung, southern Taiwan.
The project will feature a mixed-use commercial and office building alongside a residential tower. Construction is expected to begin in 2027, with completion targeted for 2033.
“The headquarters will serve as an important hub linking Foxconn’s operations across southern Taiwan,” the company said, adding that it will accommodate its smart-city team, software research and development teams, battery-cell R&D teams, electric vehicle technology centre, and AI application software teams.
Kaohsiung city officials noted that Foxconn’s investments in the city have totalled T$25 billion (US$801.8 million) over the past three years, highlighting the company’s growing presence in southern Taiwan.
